200 Meter Dash
St. Marys' Erica Davis led into the turn, and there was a really close battle for 2nd between Williamstown teammates Shelby Smith and Brookelyn Reynolds. Davis pulled away for the convincing win in 25.79, which gives her the 6th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Smith would get a bit away from Reynolds for 2nd in 26.49. Reynolds would easily hold 3rd in 26.76. Magnolia's Jenna Blain was all alone in 4th with a 27.35. Moorefield's Taylor Harvey was in 5th at 28.37. Trinity Christian's Sofia Pancoast took the final spot in 28.44.

800 Meter Run
Wood County Christian's Lacey Dimit got the field out quickly. Doddridge's Lexi Lamb made the pass into the lead at around the 200 meter mark. Lamb would lead the field through lap 1 in 1:09 with Williamstown's Alyssa Sauro matching that time while moving into the 2nd spot. Dimit was in 3rd at 1:11 with Williamstown's Brianna Winsett in 4th at 1:12. I'm not sure who was in 5th. It looked like Williamstown's Reagan Ortiz in 6th. On the backstretch, Sauro made her move and made the pass at around 550 meters. She would power away to the win in 2:17.42. That established a new Class A State Meet Record and gives her the 2nd Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Lamb easily held the 2nd spot in 2:21.05, which gives her the 9th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Winsett finished 3rd, but was hit with a DQ for an alley violation. Dimit was 4th, now 3rd, in 2:29.46. Ortiz was 5th, but also got hit with an alley violation. That moved Calhoun's Savannah Cunningham into 4th in 2:30.25. Madonna's Kristina Lesho moved into the 5th spot in 2:33.30 with Trinity Christian's Jenna Barnett moving into the 6th spot in 2:33.49.

Williamstown's Alyssa Sauro took the lead through the 1st lap and came through in 1:16. Doddridge's Lexi Lamb was right on her heels, also at 1:16. South Harrison's Madison Stonestreet was in 3rd at 1:18 with Williamstown's Brianna Winsett, St. Marys' Virginia Haddox, and Williamstown's Ava Lightfritz matching that time in the next 3 spots. At the end of 2 laps, it was still Sauro in 1st and Lamb in 2nd with both at 2:32. The video didn't catch the rest as it followed the lead pair, and my notes don't help either. On lap 3, Sauro made a move, picking up the pace to come through in 3:44. Lamb came through in 2nd in 3:48, holding her pace. Winsett was up to 3rd. Lightfritz was in 4th. Haddox was in 5th, and Charleston Catholic's Aurelia Kirby had moved into 6th. Lamb easily held 2nd in 5:04.04, which gives her the 4th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Lightfritz made a late pass to move into 3rd place in 5:25.36, just ahead of Winsett's 5:26.42. I think Haddox was still in 6th. At the midway point, Sauro had generated a gap, coming through in 5:21. Lamb was in full control of 2nd at 5:24. Winsett had generated a gap to take control of 3rd at 5:52. Stonestreet was in 4th at 5:56 with Cottrill in 5th at 5:57. Haddox was in 6th at 6:01. That gives her the 8th Best All-Time State Meet Performance and the 2nd Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. Lamb easily held the 2nd spot in 11:05.73, giving her the 5th Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. 4x400 Meter Relay
Another relay, another Williamstown domination. Williamstown led pretty much from the gun. After one leg, it appeared that it went Williamstown, Doddridge, St. Marys, Magnolia, Charleston Catholic, and Madonna. Williamstown had run away after two legs and came through in 2:07. Doddridge was in 2nd. Magnolia was in 3rd. St. Marys was in 4th. Charleston Catholic was in 5th, and I think it was Madonna in 6th. Williamstown remained in the lead through 3 legs at 3:09. On leg 3, Williamstown pulled further away at 7:39. Charleston Catholic made a move up to 2nd with Doddridge in 3rd. They were leading Charleston Catholic in that heat before a bad stutter took all their momentum. They may well have been a top 3 or even a top 2. St. Marys took the final spot in 1:14.39.
RunWV's Current Score: 61 of 78.

High Jump
Ritchie's Olivia Cress sailed over 5'6 to easily win the event. That gives her the Class A State Meet Record and the Best All-Time Class A State Meet Performance. The final score of 84 of 108 means that 77.8% of the people picked to place did indeed place, which is a pretty poor showing. Congratulations to those that proved me wrong.
